I graduated from the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena California in 1978. Upon graduation, I started my professional career with Ford Motor Corporation in Dearborn Michigan, Mitsubishi Motors America in Cypress California, Volkswagen AG of Germany, Volkswagen of America in Simi Valley California, Hyundai & kia Motor Car company of Korea and currently designing and consulting for other product design firms. In 1998 I decided to take a change in my career path and give my knowledge back to the academia world. I started with the Academy of Art University and was given the opportunity to start a design program in Automotive and Industrial Design. Hired as the Director in June 1998, I Managed and hired a multi-cultural international staff of 35 and developed a curriculum and syllabus that still is in effect today. The department now has grown to over 500 students and continues to evolve into a well respected institution for industrial design development. Today I am on the Board of Directors and I still continue to monitor & mentor the student body. I have been in the automobile and product design business now for over 25 years. 9 years ago and decided to develop and start my own business named Teague Design International Inc. with another company named Black Widow Design LLC as a product design firm to develop alternate fuel vehicles . Located in Agoura Hills California. TDII is a design Consulting of services for today’s automotive OEM’s and product firms. I believe that successful design always starts with a brand audit followed by design research. This is the best way to define your vision and develop optimum design strategy.
